Cedar Point Recreation Area

The Cedar Point Recreation Area is a portion of the Croatan National Park located within Cedar Point and managed by the United States Forest Service. It is home to the Cedar Point Tideland Trail which provides two loops meandering through the salt marsh and adjoining forest. It makes extensive use of boardwalks to cross the many shallow canals where visitors can get an overhead view of the saltwater plants and animal life below.

The site provides a small-craft boat ramp and fishing pier which provides water access to flat bottomed boats and provides a 2 mile canoe/kayak loop through a maze of canals.

Finally, for those looking to stay more than a day, the site also contains a campground with 36 sites with electrical hookups and a bathhouse with flush toilets and warm showers.
